Make sure your puppy is old enough to bring into the country. Puppies receive a rabies vaccination at about 12 weeks old. You will be required to show proof that a rabies vaccination was given at least 30 days prior to arrival into the country. If your dog is less than 16 weeks old, it will likely not qualify for entry into the country simply because of the rabies vaccination schedule and the 30 day minimum wait after the vaccination is given.
Bring rabies vaccination documents. The rabies vaccination is the only vaccination that is required for dogs and puppies entering the United States from another country. As long as the vaccination was given at least 30 days prior to entry into the country, the dog will be considered safe to enter. The veterinarian will be above to provide proper proof of vaccination for your dog.
Be prepared to have your dog confined and relocated. If your dog doesn't meet the vaccination requirement guidelines enforced by the CDC, you will have to pick a place in the country for your dog to be boarded while it gets the proper vaccinations and waits the minimum 30 days after vaccination. The dog, if confined immediately, can be sent to the facility of your choice. Plan ahead, and find a facility close to your new area that you and your dog will be comfortable with.
