How to Seal Water-Tight Bags

If you've ever experienced a down-pour while enjoying the great outdoors, you know the importance of a reliable water-tight bag. These rubber or special fiber bags protect sensitive items, like your camera and phone, from water damage. A well-made water-bag must withstand not only rain, but submersion in pressurized water like a white-water hydraulic. As with any protective device, correct closure of your water-tight bag ensures its efficacy.

Instructions

    • 1

Expel the excess air from your water-tight bag. Begin at the bottom, squeeze around the contents and push the air through the top opening.

    • 2

Roll the bag opening opening downward. Leave at least six-inches of empty space between the top of the contents and the bag opening to ensure enough rolling space. The more times you roll the bag opening downward, the more secure your contents will be.

    • 3

Connect the clips on either side of the rolled opening above the roll so they form an arch. Listen for the click of the clips to ensure complete closure.
