Reserve the houseboat. You will need to put down a deposit that will be applied to the total cost. Houseboats range from $400 a day to $5000 weekly, depending on the size of the houseboat and the time of year.
Know what to bring. Check with the rental facility. At Dale hollow lake, some Houseboats supply linens for beds, while others expect you to bring your own. All houseboats are equipped with emergency life jackets, deck furniture, a large cooler and gas grill. Bring your own swimming towels, soaps and shampoos and ski vests as well as lanterns.
Stock your kitchen, also called the galley. While there will be utensils, make sure to bring plenty of food as you will have to drive into one of the small towns close by to restock. Although the marina does have some staples, they tend to be more expensive and lacking in variety.
Enjoy the houseboat and Dale Hollow Lake. Houseboating is like camping in a floating cabin. You'll be as close to nature as you can get while still enjoying bedrooms, bathrooms, and air conditioning. Some of the luxury houseboats also have satellite TV and hot tubs.
