Arkansas Train Tours

In 1986, the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad purchased 149 miles of track, stretching from Monett, Missouri, to Fort Smith, Arkansas. Today, the company utilizes its acquisition by running modestly-priced excursions through the scenic Ozark Boston Mountains.
  1. Boston Mountain Excursions

    • Arkansas & Missouri Railroad offers two separate Boston-Mountain tours of different lengths and durations. Passengers departing from Springdale enjoy an eight-hour, 134-mile round trip to historic Van Buren. The outfit also conducts a three-hour excursion to the mountain community of Winslow from Van Buren. Riders travel in comfort on restored antique passenger cars.

    Eureka Springs Area

    • From April to October, the Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railway conducts a memorable four-and-one-half mile excursion through the Ozark landscape near the Victorian-styled community of Eureka Springs. Diners can enjoy a meal while traveling on the Eurekan Dinning Car, which preserves a 1920s ambiance. The company also maintains on-site locomotive exhibits.

    Specials

    • During October and November, the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad offers a series of fall foliage Ozark excursions, as well as a shuttle to various locations during Fayetteville's annual motorcycle rally, Bikes, Blues and Barbecue. In December, it operates a Children's Christmas Train to the nearby communities of Johnson and Lowell.
