The Alexia Grant was established to give a photographer the financial freedom to produce a substantial photo essay in keeping with the foundation's goals of promoting peace and cultural understanding. The recipient will receive $15,000 toward a specific project outlined in the grant proposal, as of August 2010. There is also a student competition. Any photographer is eligible to apply for the Alexia Grant except those who have won $1,000 or more in the previous calendar year, or those who wish to work on collaborative projects. There is no entry form for this grant, but the application package must include a 750-word proposal and no more than 20 images, including captions, a summary of work and a resume.
