A large group can be accommodated in the living room of a fifth wheel at a local campground or even at grandma's house. Plan a game of cards or charades. The fifth wheel is large enough to fit many family members inside with ease. Spend the day enjoying the great indoors and reminiscing with Uncle Bob as your nieces and nephews play outside.
This next Fourth of July weekend there is likely a firework show on a beach or campground close to you. Load your family into the truck and pull into a campground. Bring a blanket and climb up on the roof (make sure it will hold you first) and watch the show atop your fifth wheel. Most oceanfront cities set off their fireworks on the beach. Your local newspaper will publish the dates and times. Reserve your campsite as soon as possible because campgrounds fill up fast at this time of year.
Make your fifth wheel the designated camping vehicle for a sleepover for Cub Scouts, Brownies, or other young adventurers. You don't even have to leave the driveway. Put the slide-outs out for a classic camp-out. Have the children bring their sleeping bags and line them up on the living-room floor. Make sure to plan something fun like a shadow puppet show. Illuminate a wall with a flashlight. Bring in a washcloth, a twig and other odd-shaped items to create images on the wall. The children can use their own hands to make characters. While they play in the living room, you can stay comfortably in the next room.
The next time that you just want to get away from it all, hook up the fifth wheel and ask a few friends to join you. The kitchen is set up to host many guests and has the feel of a bachelor pad.The floor plan is comfortable and open, so you can set up a game of Monopoly or dominoes in the middle of the floor and get your friends to come on down and play.
