  1. Explorations V Children's Museum

    • Explorations V Children's Museum is a terrific and inexpensive place where toddlers can enjoy a variety of activities. Children two and under are free. Ages three to adult only pay $5 per person. The museum is located downtown in the historic Kress Building. The museum has many features inside such as the Theatre, Explore Store, the News Station and Tot Spot, which was created especially for children up to four-years-old. Toddlers are able to build, crawl, play and explore in this section of the museum.

    Barnett Family Park

    • Barnett Family Park is a great place for families to bring their toddlers. The park has large sculptures of animals commonly found in Florida. The park has a special play area that is covered in rubber to protect your toddler from injuries while playing. Young children will also enjoy the spider web climb. Toddlers can maneuver their way towards the top, but it was designed so that they can only climb so high to help prevent injuries. Other attractions include the beehive ride, the inchworm swing and the interactive water fountain.

    Polk Museum of Art

    • Polk Museum of Art is free for children ages five and under. Ages six to adult only pay $5 per person. Toddlers may have the opportunity to see their own artwork in the museum. This is because the George Jenkins Student Gallery displays Polk County student's artwork in elementary through high school six times a year. The museum has a large and colorful sculpture garden outdoors that will definitely attract the attention of toddlers. The museum also has free workshops for families with toddlers that includes working with paints and watercolors. This museum also has eight galleries of art that the entire family will enjoy.
