Depending on your country of citizenship or nationality and the type of student visa you are requesting, Australia will assess your application and determine if it is suitable for a student visa.
Since there are eight different types of student visas and the Australian government must determine which type of visa, if any, is appropriate for each applicant, there are three main reasons why an Australian student visa might be delayed.
If applying for a student visa you must provide the following information and documents with the application: two passport-sized photographs with your name printed on the back of each photo; a certified copy of your birth certificate; Health Documents and verification of a recent medical examination; penal and military service clearance, if applicable; and financial statements declaring you have sufficient funds to maintain you during your course of study.
You also must provide personal information, such as your name, address, what university or program you are enrolled in, and for how long you plan on being in Australia.
If any of this information is missing, the student visa application might be delayed.
Each of the eight Australian student visas has a different application. Each application requests additional information and documents that are unique to that application.
You must apply with the correct application for the visa you are requesting in order for the Australian government to give you a visa. You must provide all the information needed for that particular application.
If you submit the incorrect application, this might delay the student visa process or result in the rejection of the student visa request.
Even if you submit the correct application and provide all of the required information and documentation, your Australian student visa might be delayed if you have not met the minimum requirements set by the Australian government for obtaining a student visa.
If your medical examination shows that you are not healthy enough or your financial documents suggest that you will not have sufficient funds to support yourself while in Australia, then your application might be delayed or rejected.
