What is Mountain Range?

A mountain range is a chain of mountains that are connected geologically. They are formed over millions of years as a result of the tectonic activity that occurs when the Earth's crust is subjected to compressional forces. Mountain ranges can be found on every continent, and they vary in size, shape, and elevation. Some of the most famous mountain ranges in the world include the Andes in South America, the Himalayas in Asia, the Rocky Mountains in North America, and the Alps in Europe.
