Go to the beach. There is no shortage of pristine beaches on St. Martin. Baie de l'Orient, or Orient Bay, is one of the most popular beaches on the island. The beach is dotted with beach umbrellas and lounge chairs as far as you can see, with waiters moving among the sunbathers bearing platters of drinks. When hunger strikes, there are several fine restaurants where you can enjoy a delicious meal before heading back out to the sand. Motor sports are also available here. One end of the beach is clothing optional, so you'll occasionally see a nudist strolling along the water's edge. Other beaches include Baie Longue, Baie Rouge, Baie Grand Case, Baie de Prunes and Baie Nettle.

Even less skilled swimmers can take part in this activity. It's exciting to spot bright tropical fish and colorful coral under the water, and some scuba outfits even take divers to see ship wrecks.
