Visit downtown and the Bay Street area of Nassau, on New Providence Island. This is a lively section of the largest city and capital of the Bahama –Nassau. Here, visitors will find many upscale shops as well as a wonderful straw market that sells many local arts and crafts. Beautiful examples of Colonial Adams and Georgian architecture are in abundance here.
Relax at Paradise Island in Nassau. Visitors will be able to see a gorgeous harbor here, with a lighthouse, golf course and many resorts. If you are interested in taking a sightseeing boat around the Bahamas, visit Paradise Island as most of them depart from the harbor.
Bask in the sunshine at Cable Beach in Nassau. This is a beautiful beach resort area, with a large amount of luxury hotels. The skies are blue and the sand is soft and white at Cable Beach, so this is the ideal Bahamian area to go sunbathing, swimming or take long walks along the water.
Check out the Port Lucaya Marketplace and Marina in Port Lucaya. This is a wonderful place to browse for local arts and crafts, enjoy lilting music, and dine at fine restaurants. There are lots of sailing, boating, deep-sea fishing, and water sports offered at Port Lucaya, as well.
Spend time at Chub Cay on Berry Islands in the Out Islands. This island is the southernmost island on the Berry Island chain. Be sure to check out Mamma Rhoda Rock just southeast of Chub Cay. Visitors can explore an incredible submarine garden here, with a 16-foot-long reef. Some of the main draws of Chub Cay include the scuba diving and deep sea fishing. It is also a great place to sunbathe and swim in the crystal blue waters.
