Relax at Mullet Pond Bay. This beach has fine sand and several resorts. Part of the Netherlands Antilles half of the island, this is a quintessential beach to enjoy the glory of all the offerings of a tropical island. Mullet Pond is the largest remaining mangrove colony in Simpson Bay Lagoon, which is the largest lagoon in the Caribbean Sea.
Have fun at Simsonbaai in the Netherlands Antilles. This is a charming and idyllic fishing village that is a highly popular recreational spot with both tourists and locals. This is a great way to bask in the natural beauty of Saint Martin, while water skiing, fishing, windsurfing and sailing.
Visit Maho Bay. This is another lovely Saint Martin beach. Located at the end of Queen Juliana Airport's landing strip, this is one of the first places tourists will come across upon landing on the island. Visitors can swim and sunbathe while taking in the views of the departing and arriving aircraft.
Check out the Dutch Cul de Sac. In both the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the Dutch Cul de Sac was the hub of Saint Martin's indigo, tobacco and sugar production. Here, the island's oldest graveyard is also located. This is a fascinating place to witness a bit of the area's history.
Visit the Border Monument in Netherlands Antilles. This is a national landmark for Saint Martin that celebrates and commemorates more than 300 years of peaceful coexistence of both Dutch and French rule on the island. There is also an observation deck in the tower of the monument.
