The first 18-hole professional golf course in Cuba, Varadero Golf Club was designed to incorporate three golfing architectures, giving golfers a chance to play holes of varying difficulties and styles. The first nine holes of this par 72 course ease golfers into the course before giving way to a much more challenging 11 through 18. The later greens are more protected by sand traps and water hazards. The course features salt-water lakes that feed directly into the sea. Practice areas are available for long play and putting. Professional Golf Association (PGA) professionals and Cuban Golf Federation instructors also operate a golf academy at the Varadero Golf Club, offering a variety of programs following international guidelines. Accommodations are available on the grounds at the Xanadu Mansion, an exclusive resort with unlimited ocean views. The hotel also houses a world-class restaurant and extensive wine collection. Golfing/lodging packages can be purchased at a discount.

Spanning over 22 acres in the heart of Varadero is Josone Park. Built originally as a country retreat, visitors today can enjoy the oceanfront swimming pool, grab a drink at the sugar cane juice stand or hold a banquet or party at the children's party hall. Dining options include the Dante Restaurant and the Retiro Josone Restaurant, both offering guests a look at Cuban history. Built in 1938 as the first house of Varadero, The Dante Restaurant specializes in Italian cuisine. The Retiro Josone Restaurant is housed in the former neoclassical mansion home of José Fermín Iturróz, the first lakefront land owner in the area that is now Josone Park. Another interesting feature of Josone Park is the tunnel located beneath the first avenue. Originally built as a pathway to the beach, the tunnel now leads to the International Diving Center. With over 500,000 visitors a year, Jasone Park is one of the most popular attractions in Varadero.

Renowned for its neoclassical architecture and excellent acoustics, the Sauto theater was built by Italian architect Daniel Dal'Aglio. The murals on the theater's interior walls were also painted by Dal'Aglio. After opening in 1863, the Sauto Theater has hosted numerous nationally- and internationally-known performers in ballets, operas, concerts and musical comedy shows. The theater is now a National Monument.
