Dayton's Funny Bone bills itself as "Dayton's premiere comedy club" and provides a line up of national and local talent five days a week. All shows are smoke free and are 21 and over, except for Wednesday shows and Friday 10 p.m. shows, which are 18 and over. Doors open one hour before showtime for the 7:30 p.m. shows and a half-hour before showtime for the late shows. The showroom has a two-item per person minimum, which can include either drinks or food from restaurant.

Wiley's Comedy Nightclub bills itself as "Dayton's first and Ohio's oldest comedy club." It is a nonsmoking club and 16 and over are admitted. The club offers weekly shows Thursday through Sunday. Sunday features a popular open mic night. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. for the 8 p.m. show and at approximately 10 p.m. for the 10:30 p.m. show.

In addition to the two main clubs, touring comedians often visit the Nutter Center on the Wright State University campus. The Nutter Center is the largest stadium in Dayton. Past performers include Larry the Cable Guy and Bill Engvall.
