Side Splitters Comedy Club features stand-up comedians, open mic nights for amateur comics and other events like Comic's Night Out and Girls Night Out. Side Splitters also books nationally-known comedians as special stand-up events. Minimum age for admittance is 18; for drinks, 21. Appetizers, snacks and desserts are on the menu. Shows are Thursdays through Sundays, and sometimes special events are featured during the week. Side Splitters hosts parties and fund-raisers, and its comedians are available for outside bookings. The Improv is a comedy club chain with locations around the country, including Tampa. The Tampa club features stand-up comedians and other comedy acts like hypnotists. The Improv hosts nationally-known comedians and local artists. Open mic nights give amateurs a chance with a live audience. The Improv also offers comedy classes in Tampa. Most shows admit patrons at least 21, though some may have a minimum age requirement of 18. Show times are Wednesdays through Sundays.
BackStage at the Improv is a new late-night venue featuring local musicians and artists. It is also a dinner theater offering a full menu with main courses like grilled New York strip steak and island mahi in shrimp sauce.

Coconuts Comedy Club at Safety Harbor Resort and Spa is located on Tampa Bay, about 30 minutes west of Tampa. Coconuts has three area locations and bills itself as Florida's longest-running comedy clubs. The Safety Harbor Coconuts Club features some regulars and also nationally-known comedians. Some special events feature music acts as well.
