Bedfordshire's location, northwest of London in the beautiful English countryside, makes it a popular spot for visitors and people looking to escape the city.   1. Woburn Safari Park

    • At Woburn Safari Park, visitors can stay in their cars as they tour the park to get a look at lions, tigers and camels, or they can tour on foot and mingle with smaller animals, including lemurs and squirrel monkeys. The park also offers VIP experiences, among them being a zoo keeper for a day and the Big Cat Breakfast, where you can learn about lions and tigers and also feed them breakfast. The park is open daily in the summer and on weekends from November through February. Admission is £12.95 for adults, £8.95 for children and £34.95 for a family ticket (two adults and two children).

    The Shuttleworth Collection

    • The Shuttleworth Collection depicts the history of flight from the early 1900s to World War II. The Collection is housed in the Shuttleworth Aerodrome, one of the few all grass aerodromes still in use. The eight hangars include a workshop hangar that allows visitors to see restoration in progress. During the summer, the aerodrome has regular flying displays featuring aircraft from all periods. The aerodome is open daily from 9.30 a.m. until 4 p.m.

    The Hat Factory

    • The Hat Factory is Luton's leading arts and entertainment venue, featuring everything from live music to theater, dance, workshops and gallery exhibitions. The venue offers free theater tickets for those under age 26 and offers courses as varied as the Afro-Brazilian art form capoeira, hip hop, embroidery and yoga.
