Tucked away in the beachside fishing village of Carrabelle, Florida is the "World's Smallest Police Station." According to the Roadside America website, because the town was so small for so long, a police car parked daily next to a phone booth on Highway 98, which runs right through the middle of town. It was there that all emergency calls were taken. However, as the town grew, it got a bonafide police force, but that original phone booth is now a historical marker and tribute to what is dubbed the "World's Smallest Police Station."
Located in Lake Wales, Florida, Spook Hill is an eerie anomaly. It is part of the town's historic district and is rooted in Native American folklore. Tourists from all over come to watch their cars appear to roll uphill while in neutral, defying all laws of gravity. The legend has to do with a Native American chief and a huge alligator who battled to the death of the gator. Legend has it that the cars roll uphill lured by the spirit of the gator seeking his revenge or the Chief, still trying to protect his land and his people.
