St. Augustine, Florida, is located forty miles south of Jacksonville on the Atlantic coast of northern Florida. The area is known as a beach destination and is full of historic sites and locations. The town of St. Augustine was first founded in 1565.
The Holiday Regatta of Lights is an annual holiday event in St. Augustine hosted by and held at the St. Augustine Yacht Club. A regatta is a boating event that involves multiple boats and vessels. This year, it is scheduled for December 11, 2010 starting at 6:00 p.m. The boats, decorated with Christmas and holiday lights, parade around St. Augustine Bay and are driven by the boat owners or hired captains. Visitors can easily view the boats alongside the bay. A variety of yachts, shrimping boats, sailboats and private and commercial vessels participate in the event each year. Boat owners and captains that wish to enter the parade may do so by filling out an application form. The participation in and viewing of the parade is free for everyone.

The 17th annual Holiday Tour of Historic Inns in St. Augustine will take place on December 11 and 12, 2010. The self-guided walking tour includes 26 historic bed and breakfast inns located throughout St. Augustine. The inns are decorated for the holidays and guests can walk around and through all of the inns that are participating in the annual tour. Local St. Augustine restaurants participate in this event; they provide the food and refreshments available to guests. The event is hosted by the St. Augustine Historic Inns association and, as of August 2010, pricing has not yet been set for admission to the 2010 tour.

The Garden Club of St. Augustine hosts a Tour of Homes as an annual holiday event. The 42nd annual tour is scheduled for December 5, 2010 between 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The theme for 2010 is Ancient City Christmas. The tour includes eight private homes that are decorated for the holidays. Some of the homes featured on the tour date back to the 1700s and are historic in their architecture and appearance. The homes are all within walking distance of one another, however, there is free transportation available for visitors who would rather not walk the tour. Admission is free, but there is a parking charge of $1.50 per hour or $7.50 for the whole day.
