Night Clubs in Utah

A night club is a social area where people gather to socialize, dance or listen to live music. Usually a night club will have a bar but each club will vary in design. Some night clubs may have additional features such as smoke machines, UV lights, foam or disco balls. Popularized in the 1990s with dance and house music, nowadays clubs play a wide range of music from hip-hop to pop to rock or metal. Most clubs in Utah are in Salt Lake City.

  1. Salt Lake City

    • Area 51 has an 80s night, ladies night and you can even have a free birthday party. In the center of Salt Lake City, it plays new pop and hip-hop music. Club Sound was Utah's first club to open and is now one of the biggest clubs in Utah. It hosts gay and lesbian nights and has a multi-level dance floor with each DJ offering a different selection of music. Playing mainly dance music, Club Habit is an option if you prefer happy hour drink offers and the student scene. Southern X-posure is an adult's entertainment night club and Urban Lounge hosts a range of live international music acts including bands and DJs. It is an alternative option to the dance clubs around the city.

    Park City

    • East of Salt Lake City, Harry O's is in Park City and hosts DJs on the weekends. For big-name acts you can buy tickets online to ensure you beat the queues. The Star Bar, formerly Plan B Night Club, is on the Main Street and plays mainly pop music. It also has mirrored ceilings! Other clubs on Main Street include Ciseros and Sidecar, both of which also sell food. Promontory is at the farthest end of Main Street but is open until 6 a.m. on weekends.

    Southern Utah

    • On Cove View Road in Richfield, Detour is the only club in the area. To the east in Wellington is The Cowboy Club. Although not a traditional dance night club it plays music, has a bar and is open late. In Vernal, close to the border of Colorado, New Cassidy's Club is again the only club in the area.
