Billy's Lounge is a live music club in the Eastown district of Grand Rapids, Michigan, less than 10 minutes' walk from Wilcox Park and Aquinas College. Billy's music mix is deeply rooted in the Blues, but also offers a wide range of locally and nationally acclaimed bands from all musical genres. The club fits up to 250 guests into an area featuring a dance floor, nightly drink specials, pool tables, candle-lit tables and a full bar offering micro-brewed beers from 10 independent U.S. breweries. Special events are often for guests over 21 only. The cover charge varies with event, some are free and others cost between $5 and $10. Opening hours are from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m., as of 2010.

The Clutch Cargo, located a block and a half from the POH Regional Medical Center, has served the Pontiac, Michigan area as a live music venue for over 25 years, playing host to big-name bands and guest DJs. Clutch is in a converted church and retains a slightly Gothic flavor (as well as full-length cathedral windows). The atmosphere is "a hybrid of both trendy-club and swank-lounge." Popular shows attract up to 1,200 guests, while regular dance nights feature live DJs playing a mix of techno, pop, house and hip-hop music. Guests buying alcoholic drinks must show a valid picture ID with their birth date. As of 2010, opening hours are between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m, Wednesday to Saturday. The club is closed from Sunday to Tuesday.

The Cavern is a huge, hip downtown club located off West Washington Street (a block from the YMCA) in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Cavern describes itself as "4 clubs in 1" and offers guests a variety of entertainment on four floors in the 26,000-square-foot catacombs of an historic brewery and mill. Features include live music shows, live DJs playing music in a choice of the Metro Detroit, Millennium or Gotham City clubs (playing all genres of music), music video streaming, big match coverage and the Circus Bar with karaoke, bluegrass and open mike nights, billiards, pool and a jukebox. Opening hours are between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m. Monday and Wednesday to Saturday. Cover charge varies; $5 is typical, as of 2010. Only guests over 18 are admitted.
