South Texas extends from San Antonio all the way to Mexico. The region is known for its strong Hispanic influence and many battlefields that saw action during the Mexican War of Independance and the Mexican-American War, the most famous of which is the Alamo, a battle that marked a pivotal turn in the Texas Revolution.
