The convenience of the Tri-Cities Airport is one of its biggest conveniences. As opposed to larger airports where travelers park and then take a shuttle to the terminal, Tri-Cities has both long- and short-term parking lots situated directly across from the terminal. The parking lots stay open 24 hours, every day. If you are dropping off or picking up travelers, metered parking is also available, directly in front of the terminal. Cars can park at these meters for up to 1 hour, so you can conveniently assist a passenger into the airport.
Tri-Cities Airport is served by six nationally known rental car companies. The counters for these rental cars are directly adjacent to the airport's baggage claim area, with the cars outside the terminal. Travelers who collect frequent flyer miles should check with the rental car company since some of them assign miles for renting with them. Another transportation option to or from Tri-Cities is a taxi service that provides taxis, town cars and limousines, located in the terminal.
Among the airport's guest services is a business center. This private meeting and work area is glass-enclosed to help reduce noise. The center houses a conference table that seats six people, which is useful for business teams traveling together to prepare for a trip or to provide a quiet spot for you to work. The business center, along with the rest of the airport, offers free wireless Internet service.
As of December 2010, the Tailwind Restaurant and Lounge opens early and stays open until early evening, Sunday through Friday; it closes earlier on Saturday. The Tailwind serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. On the lower concourse, visitors will find the Tailwind Express, which stays open until the final flight of the day leaves. The Tailwind Gift Shop is also available for travelers to buy souvenirs as well as newspapers, magazines and snacks. The airport offers tours to visitors of all ages and has an observation deck where you can watch the planes take off and land.
