Google directions online by using Google Maps (see References). Begin by entering the address of your final destination, preferably with the complete street address, city, state and zip code. Select the correct location from a list of all the addresses that pop up if you have only provided a partial address. Obtain turn-by-turn directions by clicking on the "Directions" option, selecting your preferred mode of transportation (car, bus, walking, biking) and entering the address of your starting point. Save the map to your computer or smart phone or print out directions as a hard copy.
Enter your current location and final destination for turn by turn directions by using MapQuest, another online resource for plotting how to travel from one place to another (see References). Access an aerial view or road map of the suggested route, as well as traffic updates and the price of gas in the area where you'll be traveling. Use the zoom function to see an up-close image of the map or zoom out for a broader view.
Install a Global Positioning System (GPS) into your car and allow an automated voice to guide you along your journey. Enter the address of your final destination and allow the system to plot your course. Follow turn-by-turn instructions as they are provided, or read along the directions listed on the screen.
