How to Rent a Car at 24 Years Old

Renting a car is often a necessity when on vacation or when your personal vehicle is in the shop for repairs. Many drivers obtain their driver's licenses as young as 16 years of age and yet they cannot legally rent a car from a car rental agency. In fact, car rental agencies prefer renters be at least 25 years of age. Fortunately, most rental car agencies will rent to drivers as young as 21, but the fees for renting a car to a person 21 to 24 years of age are steep.
