Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas Excursions

The Majesty of the Seas is a recently remodeled Royal Caribbean cruise ship that sails to the Bahamas. You can spend three or four nights aboard this ship, which features a remodeled pool deck, day spa and fitness center, a rock-climbing wall and whirlpools. At night you have access to many themed bars and lounges. The Majesty of the Seas typically docks in Miami and Key West in Florida, and Cococay and Nassau, in the Bahamas.
  1. Nassau Excursions

    • Royal Caribbean organizes shore and land excursions for guests in all ports. Excursions will cost extra. Prices vary depending on the activity. The Royal Caribbean website has an updated list of all excursions and pricing details. In Nassau, you can take a glass bottom boat tour. The boat travels to the reef, where most of the island's sea creatures live. The glass bottom allows guests to view the tropical fish below, as the ship's crew describe and identify the fish you see. Complimentary fruit or rum punch is served as well. The boat tour lasts an hour and a half. For a closer look at marine life, you can take a snorkeling tour of the rainbow reef, which costs around $29, based on 2010 rates. Take an excursion to Blackbeard's Cay, a private island 25 minutes from Nassau by boat, where you can rent Jet skis and snorkeling equipment. Multiple vendors serve food and tropical drinks as well.

    Cococay Excursions

    • In Cococay, Bahamas, you can rent floating beach mats and soak up the sun from the crystal clear waters. Aqua Park is a floating water park that features climbing apparatus, trampolines and slides. The Cococay Nature Walk is a sightseeing tour that introduces guests to the tropical plants and wildlife indigenous to the island. A local guide will explain the geography of the island, and tell you about the island's legendary past with pirates. Guests also will see sea stars, stingrays, conch, iguanas and pelicans. The guided tour is ¾ of a mile over unpaved trails. On the beach in Cococay you can ride a 40-foot high inflatable water slide. Snorkeling tours in Cococay cost around $29 for adults and $16 for children, based on 2010 rates, while a one-hour Jet skiing tour costs around $29.

    Miami and Key West Excursions

    • In Key West you can take a haunted ghost tour. In Miami, visit historic South Beach for some time in the sun and cocktails. Jungle Island is a family-friendly, zoo-like attraction in Miami that is home to a 900-pound liger, kangaroos, orangutans, monkeys, birds, tigers and lemurs. There are live shows and petting areas to visit as well. Jungle Island is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. General admission is $30 for adults and $24 for children as of 2010. The Taste of Key West Tour features trips to three Key West restaurants, where you can taste local cuisine. There are several stops on the tour, which lasts over an hour and 45 minutes.
