The Grandeur of the Seas has room for 1,950 passengers based upon double occupancy, with a maximum capacity of 2,440. The ship has a gross tonnage, or total capacity below deck, of 73,817. The ship's length of 916 feet is balanced by its beam of 106 feet, marking its widest point. The ship creates a draft of 25 feet and has a cruising speed of 22 knots.
Accommodations take up a large amount of the 916 feet of the ship's length. One negative from Fodor's states that the staterooms, especially the smaller ones, are cramped, unless you are willing to pay a premium for a suite. On deck two the interior stateroom measures 136.7 square feet, while the large ocean view stateroom occupies 151.8 square feet. Both have two twin beds that convert to one queen size bed, along with a vanity area and private bathroom. The extra space in the ocean view room is a sitting area with sofa. Deck two is the lowest deck with accommodations. Suites are located on the highest decks with accommodations; decks seven and eight. Suites range in size from 247.6 square feet to 517.7 square feet, not counting the balcony. The ship contains one Royal Suite with 1,087.2 square feet with a separate bedroom and queen size sofa.
The formal dining room occupies two decks. Assigned seating in two sessions or an open dining time is available for evening meals. Breakfast and lunch with open seating also takes place in the dining room. Windjammer offers a casual buffet dining experience three times a day. Other dining options include a poolside grill and coffee bar. No specialty restaurants are available, which is a drawback according to Fodor's as it limits the food choices.
Located at the back of the Grandeur of the Seas, the rock wall stands 200 feet above sea level. It provides climbers with a spectacular view of the ocean. Royal Caribbean promotes the wall as one of its major attractions aboard ship.
