Specifications for the Coachmen RV

Coachman RV of Middlebury, Indiana, has been manufacturing recreation vehicles (RV) since 1964. The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association defines a recreation vehicle as towable or motorized temporary living quarters but not mobile homes, off-road vehicles, snowmobiles or conversion vans. Coachmen RV's products include fold-down campers, Fifth Wheel campers and three classes of motorized homes.
  1. Fold Down Camper

    • Coachmen's "fold down" camper, commonly called a pop-up camper, features a roof that can be folded down during travel or popped up to create living space when parked. The base weight is approximately 2,695 lbs., and the hitching weight is about 287 lbs. Coachmen's Clipper Classic is 18.5 feet long and 85 inches wide. Once opened, the interior has a height of six feet, 10 inches.

    Fifth Wheel Camper

    • Coachmen's Fifth Wheel campers include the Brookstone line, whose trailers weigh from 10,000 to 12,520 lbs. The hitch weight ranges from 2,450 to 2,980 lbs. The exterior length of the Brookstone Fifth Wheel is approximately 38 feet. The living area has a height of six feet, seven inches.

    Motorized Home

    • Called the Miranda, Coachmen's Class A motorized home weighs in at 26,000 lbs. It has a Ford chassis with a 6.8 liter Triton V-10 engine. The exterior height is about 12 feet. The interior height is six feet, eight inches. The length ranges from 29.8 to 36.6 feet. This vehicle has a 75-gallon gas tank and a 20.3 LP gas capacity.
