The Specifications of the Navigator of the Seas

The Navigator of the Seas is a cruise ship in the Royal Caribbean International cruise line fleet. Despite the name, Royal Caribbean is a line that sails all around the entire world, and its website lists destinations and departure ports around the globe. The Navigator of the Seas is a member of the Voyager class of vessels at Royal Caribbean, making it one of the cruise line's larger ships.
  1. Voyager Class

    • The Navigator of the Seas is one of the five Voyager-class vessels employed by Royal Caribbean. This means that it is among the largest and most elaborate ships in the fleet. As part of the Voyager roll-out program, the ship first set sail in December 2002. It is 1,020 feet long and weighs 138,000 tons. The ship has 1,557 cabins which can carry up to 3,114 passengers.

    Sports and Entertainment

    • The vast size of this ship allows it to house facilities for entertainment that would not be possible on smaller vessels. Sporting facilities include a rock climbing wall, three swimming pools, an in-line skating facility and an ice-skating rink.

Golf enthusiasts can enjoy the miniature golf course or use golf simulators. There is also a full-sized basketball court onboard. A large fitness center on the 11th deck features aerobic and weight equipment as well as periodic fitness classes. The ShipShape Spa provides massages and a number of relaxing beauty treatments.

Entertainment is available at a number of themed bars and lounges including Boleros Latin lounge. There is also a casino onboard the ship. A video arcade on deck 12 provides entertainment for people of all ages. Modern theatrical musicals are performed at the five-story Manhattan Theater.

    Staterooms

    • There are four different categories of staterooms on the Navigator of the Seas: the deluxe suite, the balcony room, the outside room and the interior room. Interior rooms have two twin beds and a private bathroom. They range from 153 to 158 square feet.

Outside staterooms are available in three different bed configurations, and include an outside view. Depending on the arrangement of beds in an outside room, the room may measure 161 square feet, 211 square feet or 328 square feet. Balcony rooms include sitting areas and a private balcony. There is a 186-square-foot option, and a 206-square-foot balcony room.

Deluxe suites include private bedrooms, additional bathrooms and concierge service in certain rooms. Junior suites measure 299 square feet. Grand suites offer almost 100 additional square feet and measure 390 square feet. The royal family suite is 512 square feet, and the owners' suites measure 618. The largest rooms on board are the royal suites, which measure 1,325 square feet and include amenities like a grand piano and whirlpool bathtub.

    Dining

    • There are several dining options aboard the ship. You can make reservations to eat at Portofino, an Italian restaurant, or at Chops Grille, the resident steak house. There are two primary dining rooms, named the Swan Lake dining room and the Nutcracker dining room.

The Cafe Promenade allows you to enjoy a casual dining experience on the promenade deck. Johnny Rockets serves classic American fare like shakes and cheeseburgers. There is also a Ben & Jerry's ice cream parlor. The Jade restaurant and Windjammer Cafe round out the dining options.

There are several bars and lounges to choose from including the Vintages wine bar. The Dungeon provides a medieval-themed experience. The Schooner bar allows you to enjoy a drink with a nautical theme. Other bars include Boiler's Lounge, the Two Poets Pub, the Champagne Bar and the Connoisseur Club.

For those looking for more exciting night life, the Ixtapa Lounge features live music and dancing, while the Viking Crown lounge turns into a lively club at night.
