Consult your aircraft maintenance manual to get the required torque settings for the aileron installation plates. Every aircraft has a different requirement and it is crucial to get accurate information. Do not fudge the torque as doing so is dangerous.
Manually push down the aileron flaps on the outside edge of the wings to expose the hinges and cable mechanisms. Some aircraft have the aileron bearing plates between the flap and wing, while others have it in a panel inside the flaps. Only change and install bearings that are exposed and on the outside of the wing. Interior style settings require authorized aircraft mechanic attention.
Press the new aileron cartridge bearing into the dedicated housing for the bearings. Position and align the aileron bearing plate against the bearings.
Screw the bearing plate screws onto the plate and wing. Set the screws to the aircraft's proprietary torque setting. For example, if you have an aircraft that requires a setting of 12 lbs., set the screws to 12 lbs. with the torque wrench.
Bring the aircraft to a maintenance hangar to have the bearing cartridge settings checked for safety.
