Alliance Flight School offers the typical range of flight courses found at most similar schools and can take you from private pilot to commercial pilot to flight instructor. Alliance is also a certified flight school for Cirrus aircraft, and offers private and instrument courses and Cirrus transition courses for new owners. To facilitate this, the school owns its own Cirrus SR-20. Alliance is one of the early providers of the new sport pilot training category, a recently introduced class of pilot certificates that allows pilots to fly smaller two-seat aircraft with no medical examination, only a valid driver's license required. The school also offers accelerated courses and can provide accommodations while in training.
Alliance Flight School is located approximately 10 miles northeast of Phoenix at the Scottsdale Airport in Scottsdale, Arizona. Several large flight schools call this area home due to the outstanding flying weather that can be found in Arizona. Alliance claims that the area has more than 350 days of flyable weather per year.
The school operates a fleet of seven aircraft that includes three Cessna C-172s, a Piper Arrow and a Cirrus SR-20. The school also flies two aircraft that fall under the new sport pilot category -- a pair of SportStar MAX Light Sport Aircraft.
Typical of many flight schools, Alliance offers other services in addition to flight training. For example, the school offers aircraft rental for already certified pilots starting at $99 per hour for a SportStar MAX. Permission to rent from Alliance is typically obtained through a rental checkout with an instructor. The school also runs a small sales section on its website where pilots find information about buying and selling aircraft. The school also provides a leaseback program, where an aircraft owner "leases" their aircraft to the flight school so it may be used for flight training.
