Locate a level piece of ground. Avoid riverbeds and low-lying area. Clear the ground of rocks and thorns.
Lay out the tent out and pull it taut. On each corner is a black strap featuring an eyelet. Place a tent peg through the eyelet, and use the mallet to hammer the peg into the ground. Peg each corner to the ground in the same way. Unzip the door.
Assemble both poles. The Exxel tent's poles are joined by an elastic shock-cord in the shaft. This keeps the poles in the correct order. Slide the male end of each pole into the corresponding female part of the next pole. Repeat the process with all the poles.
Feed the cords through the pole sleeves located on the exterior corners of the tent. The poles cross in the middle to form a large "X." Place the ends of the poles through the rings on each of the tent corners. The poles must be bent into an arch to accomplish this part of the assembly.
Attach the Velcro straps along the top of the tent to the tent poles. The Velcro strips are attached to the outside of the tent.
Assemble the rainfly-cover tent pole. Place the pole in the pockets on either end of the underside of the rainfly cover. Drape the rainfly over the top of the tent so that the pole lies over the doors.
Connect the "S" hooks on the corners of the rainfly cover to the corresponding rings on the Exxcel dome tent.
Stake the tent down by pegging the guylines. This stabilizes the tent during inclement weather.
