Doheny State Beach is a California State Park located in Dana Point, California, just 60 miles outside of San Pedro and three miles from the San Juan Capistrano Mission. The park offers day camping in the northern part of the beach and overnight camping in the southern part of the beach. The park features group tent campsites, standard tent campsites and RV campsites, depending on the campers needs. The park is open to campers year-round and features a visitor center, picnic area, fishing area and full functioning restrooms with showers.
The Leo Carrillo State Beach is located in Malibu, California, just 55 miles north of San Pedro. The park offers family campsites that accommodate up to eight people, and group campsites that accommodate up to 50 people, depending on the actual site. Every campsite has a picnic table and a clearing to pitch a tent, and most campground main sites feature shade from the nearby giant sycamore trees. The campground is open to reservations year-round and has shower and restroom facilities for the campers' convenience.
