Campsites accommodating tents and RVs, as well as creek-facing camper cabins, are offered for visitors at Creekside Cabins and RV Resort campground. Close to both Redwood National Park and California's Wine Country, this full-service campground is a gated park which offers campers discounted rates for stays of seven days or longer (as of 2011). Thickly shaded camper and cabin sites dot the campground and each site enjoys a fire ring and private picnic table.
The nationally known Kampgrounds of America (KOA) brand provides Willits visitors with the Willits KOA Camping Resort. Both RV and tenting enthusiasts are accommodated and rustic, six-person Kamping Lodges are available for rental. A fishing pond, petting zoo, mini golf course and swimming pool make it an ideal location for family vacationers. Ice cream socials, hay rides and karaoke nights are held for guest enjoyment. Free WiFi is available throughout the campground and campers enjoy easy driving access along the Avenue of the Giants redwood scenic drivetowards the Mendocino Coast.
Just north of Willits lies the Quail Meadows RV Park Campground, catering to extended-stay RV travelers who have come to the area to enjoy proximity to natural redwood beauty and recreational opportunities. Located near Tomki Creek, Montgomery Woods State Park and Walker Lake in Henry Woods State Park, it offers canoeists and fishing enthusiasts a convenient camping home base. There are 56 campsites for RVs equipped with electricity and water hook-ups and a modern shower facility is located on-site.
Avid kayakers can take advantage free primitive camping at Camp One in Jackson State Forest, located six miles west of Willits. This California Department of Forestry camping area along the Noyo River is the area located farthest south on the river and closest to the forest's Willits-side entrance. Camp hosts stay on-site during summer camping season and 33 stream-side campsites are spaced widely along the river. Pit toilets are available, but the camp area has no drinking water on premises. Tents or self-contained camping units are recommended.
