Visitors can stay at luxury campsites like the Busanga Bush Camp, which features high-ceiling tents, each with beds and sitting areas, and the Shumba Bush Camp with thatched roofs, showers, and a pool. The Kaingu Safari Lodge offers more primitive sites, where visitors must bring their own tents or sleeping bags.
Camping in Kafue National Park is best during the dry season from July to October. From November to April, rains often flood roads around the park, making travel difficult. Most lodges close during the rainy season.
Kafue National Park includes some of the largest areas in Africa that remain untouched by humans. The Busanga Plains are particularly pristine with zebras, lions and other animals and big game roaming the plains. Campers can take guided tours, safaris and partake in birdwatching.
