White Mountains Campgrounds in Arizona

The White Mountains in Arizona lie along the Arizona-New Mexico border. The area is filled not only with mountains, but also with a number of streams and lakes. Guests come to the area every year to ski, hike, mountain bike, snowmobile and fish. The area has many kinds of lodging, from hotel rooms to secluded cabins. Many people prefer camping the White Mountain area, and there are several campgrounds in the range offering both tent and recreational vehicle (RV) sites.

    • Juniper Ridge is an upscale, adults-only community for people 55 years or older. The resort features permanent homes and an RV park. Campers can buy lots or just rent them for the short term. Juniper Ridge offers its own 300-acre lake, a golf course and a brook. Lots can accommodate big rigs and come equipped with water, electricity, cable television and sewer connections. The resort has a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, 18-hole golf course and croquet. Guests can also play shuffleboard, horseshoes and pickle ball, and the Juniper Ridge game room offers indoor activities such as cards, billiards, snooker and ping pong.

    Lyman Lake State Park

    • Lyman Lake State Park has 61 camping sites. Thirty-eight include full utility hook-ups, suitable for RVs. Twenty-three have no hook-ups and are more suited to tent camping. The park has a designated group camping building, with two restrooms, electrical outlets, a cement patio, barbecue grills, a fire pit, a fishing cove and a boat dock. Lake Lyman also has a dump station, showers, picnic areas and shaded shelters. Guests can also rent yurts, which come with two futons, a table and chairs, and camping cabins, furnished with bunk beds, light, heat and air conditioning. Lyman Lake has a number of hiking and equestrian trails and a swimming area; boating and fishing at the lake are allowed with a valid Arizona fishing license.

    Mountain Aire RV Park

    • Mountain Aire RV Park is set in a White Mountain valley, close to the Little Colorado River. RV sites can accommodate rigs up to 34 feet long. The park has billiards, picnicking, trout fishing, horseshoes and a recreation hall with kitchen. Mountain Aire is seasonal and is open from May to October. There are no tent camping sites, although tent trailers are allowed. The park is also pet-friendly. Mountain Aire has daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal rates, all of which include water, sewer, electricity and trash pick-up. Phone and Internet connections are available for an additional fee.
