Pocono Mountains Campgrounds

The Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania is geared to outdoor enthusiasts with 35 golf courses, more than 260 miles of hiking and biking trails, whitewater rafting, fishing and skiing. But city lovers will find area museums, cultural events and fine dining restaurants to keep them busy any time of the year.
  1. Hickory Run State Park

    • Hickory Run encompasses almost 16,000 acres in the western foothills of the Pocono Mountains. Find more than 40 miles of hiking trails as well as trout streams. The park’s Boulder Field is a National Natural Landmark. Since black bears frequent the area, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources advises all campers to keep food locked up securely and report any problems with bears to park officials. The park offers almost 400 sites for tent and RV camping. Some campsites have electric hook-ups, and campers find showers, a dump station and store in the park. The campground is open April through October, with some sites remaining open until deer season ends in December.
