RV Campgrounds in Richmond, KY

Richmond is a small city in the central part of Kentucky, 40 miles south of Lexington and state's famous Bluegrass region. Near the Kentucky River, Richmond's lone campground is the Fort Boonesborough State Park, which is a real draw for history buffs. Two more campgrounds are located 15 or so minutes to the south in the town of Berea, which bills itself as the Arts & Crafts Capital of Kentucky.

The park, which is open year round, also has a small grocery store where campers check in. Additional features include a museum, an outdoor swimming pool and hiking trails. Campers can also fish in the Kentucky River. The fort itself has cabins, blockhouses, furnishings and craft demonstrations.
