Horning's Hideout is a family-owned private campground and fishing spot tucked down a steep canyon in Washington County about 10 miles from Hillsboro and the Rock Creek Campus. Owner Bob Horning's flock of Peacocks roam freely on the property. The Hornings rent paddle boats for use on the small lake. Campsites are primitive and cheap, but the only bathrooms are port-a-potties. There is no on-site shower. The grounds are beautiful and well manicured. This land has been in the Horning family for multiple generations and houses a small family cemetery. Dogs are allowed on leashes only and fires are permitted when fire conditions permit. Hornings Hideout also hosts large summer music festivals. The campground is closed to the public during concert events.
