How do you make shelter in the Desert?

1. Choose a suitable location.

* Find a spot that is protected from the wind and sun.

* If possible, find a spot near a water source.

* Avoid areas that are prone to flooding.

2. Gather materials.

* You will need:

* A tarp or other waterproof material

* Poles or sticks

* Rope or twine

* Sand or dirt

3. Construct the shelter.

* Set the poles or sticks in the ground in a square or rectangular shape.

* Tie the tarp or other waterproof material to the poles or sticks.

* Dig a small trench around the perimeter of the shelter to help drain water away.

* Cover the trench with sand or dirt.

4. Make the shelter comfortable.

* Add bedding to the inside of the shelter.

* Hang clothes or blankets over the entrance to help block the wind and sun.

* Build a fire inside the shelter to provide warmth and light.

5. Stay safe.

* Be aware of the weather conditions. If a storm is approaching, seek shelter in a more substantial building.

* Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

* Eat food to stay energized.

* Be aware of the wildlife in the area. Avoid contact with any animals that may be dangerous.
