Satriya Cottages in Bali

If your vacation plans to Bali include sun and sand during the day and dining and clubbing at night, along with some souvenir shopping in between, you may want to consider staying in Satriya Cottages. This hotel is within walking distance of much of what you may want to experience while staying in Kuta. Note that Satriya Cottages provides hotel room accommodations and not individual cottages.

    • Satriya Cottages is located in Kuta, 4 kilometers (approximately 2.5 miles) from Denpasar International Airport, which is also known as Ngurah Rai International Airport. Fixed-rate taxis are available outside the terminals. You may be charged extra if you are carrying a surfboard. If you're planning to rent a car, you will need to obtain an International Driving Permit before you arrive. Car rental companies at the airport include Hertz, Thrifty and Toyota Rent-a-Car.

      Satriya Cottages is located 100 meters (approximately 325 feet) from Kuta Beach. There is a McDonald's on the beachfront nearby. Kuta is popular with both tourists and surfers for its white sand beach, nightlife and bargain shopping.

    Rooms

    • The hotel has 60 rooms, each with its own balcony and decorated with Indonesian textiles and furniture. Each room has air-conditioning, a color television and a refrigerator. The deluxe and classic rooms have additional features such as mini bars, private outdoor bathrooms or private outdoor gardens. A buffet breakfast is included in the price of all rooms.

      You can reserve a room online at the following rates, as of September 2010: Deluxe, $110 per night; Classic, $75; Superior, $60; and Standard, $50. Expect supplemental charges during the high season (July 1 to August 31) and peak season (December 20 to January 5). You will also be additionally charged for compulsory dinners on Christmas and New Year's Eve.

    • Though Kuta has much to see, you may find yourself wanting to spend some time at Satriya Cottages. The hotel offers a wide variety of massage therapies that can be customized to your needs. Balinese flower oils will be used to relax and refresh you. Other beauty services include manicures and pedicures. You can spend time relaxing in the tropical garden, swimming in the pool or lounging in the Jacuzzi. There is also an on-site restaurant and bar. The hotel provides free Wi-Fi.

    • Satriya Cottages is within walking distance of many of Kuta's main attractions. Kuta Beach, with its white sands and rolling waves so popular with surfers, is a short distance from the hotel. Nightlife abounds with a wide selection of restaurants, bars and nightclubs in walking distance, including the Hard Rock Café.

      For dining, you may want to consider Kopi Pot, which serves Indonesian and international cuisine in a garden setting. If shopping is your thing, you may want to spend some time at the nearby Kuta Art Market where Balinese arts and crafts are for sale. Here, as in the market stalls you pass on the street, price haggling is part of the fun. Remember to keep your haggling realistic and respectful.
