This hotel also is near the Gunflint Trail and Lake Superior and as an added feature children stay free at the Super 8 in Grand Marais. The Clearwater Canoe Outfitters and Lodge rents cabins to guests of its facilities. The cabin will sleep up to 10 people depending on which cabin you choose. Pets are welcome to stay inside the cabins for $20 a day or $90 a week, as of September 2010. There is no size restriction for pets; you will also have to provide extra bedding for your pet, if necessary. If you are fond of the outdoors, the Clearwater Canoe Outfitters and Lodge is near the Historic Border Route Trail. This trail stretches 75 miles and is great for hiking or taking a nature walk.

The Gunflint Pines Resort provides cabins and campgrounds for guests to stay in. The cabins all have fireplaces, an open deck and open living spaces. As of Setpember 2010, pets are welcome for $12 a day in the cabins, and $5 a day on the campgrounds. While pets are in the Gunflint Pines Resort they must remain on a leash and never be left unattended. There are treats in the lodging building for pets and they offer pet sheets to cover furniture if you request them. As an extra feature the Gunflint Pines Resorts over look the Gunflint Lake, giving guests a brilliant view of nature.
