Located in south of Albuquerque in Ruidoso, these 1950s-styled cabins are on the banks of the Rio Ruidoso in the Lincoln National Forest. The Ruidoso Lodge Cabins feature small rooms decorated with quilts and antiques, full kitchens, bathrooms, television and a DVD player, high-speed Internet and porches with gas grills. More sophisticated riverside cottages are also available with vaulted ceilings and in-room Jacuzzis. Both locations are close to the river, making trout fishing a popular activity for visitors. Three cabins with Whirlpools and fireplaces are also available in a secluded forest setting in Hidden Canyon above the Rio Ruidoso.
The Capitan Cabins in the town of Capitan are 10 miles from Lincoln, New Mexico. The town is a National Historic Landmark Capitan Historic District and landmarks in its Historic District include the Smokey Bear Museum, Smokey Bear Historical Park, Capitan Train Depot and Capitan Village Hall. Smokey Bear Historical Park offers visitor exhibits about forest fire prevention with icon Smokey Bear, as well as educates guests on forest health. The quiet studio-style cabins are air conditioned and feature decks, kitchens, a private yard and a fire pit. All cabins are non-smoking. Guests can also enjoy free on-site raspberry picking when in season and use a gas grill in the common patio area.
The 22-acre Rancheros de Santa Fe Campground is located on Historic Route 66 near the historic Santa Fe Trail. Cabins are situated in a wooded area of pine and juniper trees and are minutes from the historic architecture and sights of old Santa Fe. There, visitors can see Santa Fe Plaza, the Palace of the Governors and the New Mexico History Museum, among other historic and cultural sights. The campground also offers tent sites and full hook-up sites for RVs, trailers and vans. The site also features a heated outdoor pool and nightly movies in summer months, a playground and a hiking trail.
Ridgerunner Cabin is a classic log cabin on a bluff overlooking the Rio Hondo, just one-mile from the village of Taos Ski Valley. The village is home to the largest resort in New Mexico, the Taos Ski Valley Ski Resort. Near the Carson National Forest, the cabin is ideally situated for a number of outdoor recreation activities, including hiking, horseback riding, river-rafting, fishing and biking. It is also approximately 40 minutes north of Taos Pueblo, an ancient Native American village and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The two-story cabin sleeps eight people and features a full kitchen, two bathrooms, washer/dryer and vaulted ceilings.
