How to Rent a Cabin in Red River, New Mexico

The modern area of Red River, New Mexico was originally founded by miners and prospectors. Originally called River City, early residents created mines for gold, silver and copper in the local mountains. Eventually, the town grew to include several newspapers, a saw mill, saloons, a barber shop, a dance hall and a hospital. By the late 1920s, Red River had come to be known as a mountain playground. There are cabins available for rent in Red River as well.

      Open the Red River, New Mexico website.

      Move your mouse over the toolbar on the left, stopping at "Visiting Red River." Do not click on this. Another menu will open to the right.

      Scroll down and click on "Lodging."

      Scroll down and click on "Cabins" in the red navigation bar on the right side of the page. A list of eight lodges that rent cabins will drop down immediately under the "Cabins" heading.

      Click on each of the cabins options, reading through features and prices. You might also consider proximity to any local attractions that you want to see. Each listing includes contact information for the lodge, as well any main website that might exist.

      Choose your favorite option. If a website for the lodge is listed, go there. If you choose the 3 Bears Lodge, for example, the website will list specific rooms and rates, as well as promotions.

      Call your lodging of choice to make a reservation. Some of the lodges, such as the Tall Pines Resort, only rent cabins in the summer.
