Consult your chosen airline's size requirements for baggage by visiting its website or calling a customer service agent.

Measure the length, width and height of the piece of luggage with a tape measure.

Weigh the luggage by placing the piece on a floor or bathroom scale. You also can step on a bathroom scale without holding the luggage, make note of your weight, and then step on the scale while holding the luggage to calculate an estimate of the bag's weight.
