Coolidge Lodge Custer State Park

The Coolidge Lodge in Custer State Park, South Dakota, actually is called State Game Lodge. U.S. President Calvin Coolidge used the lodge as his "Summer White House" in 1927, and President Eisenhower spent a few days there in1953.     • Guided, safari Jeep tours for bison watching and park touring start at this lodge. Visitors also may go fly fishing or mountain biking in the park.

    Grace Coolidge Creek

    • Birch, oak and aspen trees surround Grace Coolidge Creek, which was named after President Coolidge's wife. The stream flows across the front lawn and offers trout for fishers.
