Pine Country RV & Camping Resort in Belvidere, about 7 miles northeast of Cherry Hill, has 177 RV sites, many of which include full hookups. Additionally, campers have access to restrooms, showers, laundry facilities and a dumping station. A business center is open for those who need to do a little work, while a game room and horseshoes, basketball and volleyball courts are open for fun. Benches are dotted along a creek where you can sit and enjoy quiet seclusion. The resort also hosts planned activities including bingo and card games.
About 17 miles east of Cherry Valley, Lehman’s Lakeside RV Resort in Marengo welcomes RV campers to park along the shores of the resort’s private lake. Sites include full hookups and Wi-Fi, and restrooms, showers, laundry facilities and a dump station are on the premises. Complimentary paddle boats and canoes are available for campers to row around the lake, while a sand beach and volleyball are ready for action. A multiuse nature trail winds through the woods and is open for hiking, biking, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.
Chicago Northwest KOA is about 22 miles east of Cherry Hill, in Union, and can accommodate RVs up to 78 feet. Pull-through and back-in sites are available with full, partial or no hookups. Pets are welcome, provided they remain on a leash, and there is a dog walk with manicured trails through prairie grass. Note that pit bulls, Dobermans, chows, rottweilers, Alaskan malamute and wolf mixes are not allowed.
