You can also purchase Starpoints for 35 cents per point via the Starwood Preferred Guest website. As of publication, a 20 percent discount is available for Starpoint purchases made. You can also purchase, receive or redeem gifts of Starpoints online.
American Express Membership Rewards and Diner's Club Rewards points can be converted into Starpoints and redeemed on a Starwoods Preferred Guest account. Transferring points on both cards will convert at the rate of one rewards points to one Starpoint. To transfer American Express Membership Rewards points, call 1-800-297-3276. Transfer Diner's Club Rewards points by calling 1-800-234-4034.
As of publication, opening a new Ameritrade account will grant the member a Starpoint bonus. Starpoint bonuses are tiered: deposits of $25,000, $10,000 and $2,000 will earn 20,000, 10,000 and 3,000 Starpoints, respectively. You must open Ameritrade accounts via the Ameritrade Starwood Preferred Guest page to be eligible for the point bonus.
