How to Convert to Amtrak Guest Rewards

Amtrak, the largest train provider in the U.S., offers the Amtrak Guest Reward program to travelers. Members of the reward program accumulate points when buying train tickets or when traveling business class between two cities or by directly purchasing points. Members redeem reward points for Amtrak travel, hotel stays, car rentals or gift certificates. Members of similar rewards programs from airlines, credit cards providers or other programs can convert their points into Amtrak Guest Reward points by registering for Amtrak Guest Rewards, locating participating awards programs and following the instructions for converting to Amtrak Guest Rewards.

Instructions

  Register for Amtrak Guest Rewards (AmtrakGuestRewards.com) and be awarded 500 points. At the website, choose the enroll option from the My Amtrak dialog box. Enter log-in information and personal information such as your name and address.

  Identify which rewards programs can be converted into Amtrak Guest Rewards points. Once registered as a Guest Rewards member, choose the Transfer Points option on the left menu of the Amtrak Guest Rewards website. Choose from the list of loyalty partners (Continental Airlines, Audience Rewards, Diners Club) that you wish to convert into Amtrak Guest Rewards points.

  Follow the online instructions to convert to Amtrak Guest Reward points. Click on the rewards program that you wish to convert into Amtrak Guest Rewards and log into the site. Read the conditions for converting points and follow instructions to carry out the transaction.

  Verify your new point balance. Visit the Amtrak Guest Rewards website and log into your account using the My Account tab. Confirm that your new balance has been updated to include the converted points.
