Visit the Amtrak website and click on the "Deals" tab. Underneath, you will see the latest special deals and ticket prices offered, such as saving a certain percentage when you travel to a particular destination.
Take advantage of passenger discounts. Amtrak offers special discounts that can be applied to any ticket prices and often lowers rates 10 percent to 15 percent or more. Discounted rates apply to senior citizens, veterans, students, children under 15, AAA members, active military personnel and members of the National Association of Railroad Passengers.
Join the Amtrak "Guest Rewards" program. A link to program details is located in Resources. Through this program you can earn reward points when you spend money with Amtrak. Redeem those points to get free or discounted travel rates. You will also have exclusive access to Amtrak deals that offer low rates on ticket prices to select destinations.
