How to Find Out How Much Tolls Are in Illinois

Before you set out for that cross-country road trip, one of the first things you should do is plan your budget. Included gas, snacks and tolls in your calculations. Many interstates across the country are toll roads -- including several across Illinois and in the Chicago area. The Illinois State Toll Highway Authority is in charge of the 286-mile system, which includes Interstates 90, 94, 80/294, 294, 355 and 88. Use the Illinois Tollway's website to check on rates before you hit the road.

     Click "Toll Rates".

     Scroll through the chart of toll rates the Illinois Tollway provides. Write down the rates for each plaza you expect to pass through. Tally up the rates to find the amount you need to budget for tolls.
